New Changes ✨

• Direct Messaging Privacy
  • You now have control over who can message you:
    1. Nobody
    2. Mutuals (you like and follow each other)
    3. Everyone
  • Check out the options under Your User Page -> Edit
  • Does not affect existing conversations
• Layout changes to story and chapter pages:
  • Navigation links now appear differently between mobile and desktop:
    • Mobile nav links are now in a sticky bar at the bottom
    • Desktop nav links are now in a sticky sidebar
  • A gap has been added to the bottom of these pages for eyeline consistency while reading
  • Various consistency adjustments
• View counting
  • You can no longer rack up views on your own chapters
• When registering an account through Twitter, Discord, etc, names and pictures are no longer imported. This respects privacy and prevents name collisions
• Removed the likes/dislikes green/red bar

New Features ✨

• Import Stories From Writing.com

You can now import interactive stories from Writing.com to our site!

Import A Story

From the site, you can get there under the “write” button on the top navbar:

Then click the new “Import a Story” button:

And follow the instructions on the page. You must own the story to import it.

• Completed Tag

Stories are now marked as “completed” if they are:

1. Linear stories
2. With an ending

You can also search by completed stories, or chapters from completed stories. The toggle is under “Advanced Filters” on the search page:

New Features ✨

• Tag pages!

Every tag now has an overview page. The pages include information like related tags, recent stories/chapters with the tag, as well as stats relating to popular stories/chapters.

To go to a tag page, click on any tag. Tag pages also exist for the red gender pairing tags like “f/m”, although not for the other colorful story property tags like “additions open”, “interactive”, “linear”, etc.

Upcoming Features ⏰

• Import stories from external sites

Have you noticed the interactive stories that were imported from writing.com? This is a new feature we’re working on! If you are the owner of an interactive story on writing.com, you’ll be able to import it to Collaberotica. Other sites may also be available. We’re currently working on a way to import stories from the site itself. But if you want your story imported now, contact Swai and ask for your story to be imported.

New Features ✨

• Add cover art to your stories!
  • Cover art is visible on the intro, table of contents, and story previews (in browse, search, etc.)
  • Don’t forget to add it to your current stories!

• You can now see who liked and followed things!
  • Although private likes/follows won’t be shown, and neither will dislikes

• Added a feedback link to the navbar, so if you see something wrong, it’s easy to let us know

Bugs Fixed 🪱

• Quality of uploaded images is really, finally fixed
  • (If your avatar looks pixelated, try reuploading it. It should be good now.)
• Removed some unused code to speed the site up a little

Design Changes 👩‍🎨

• Cleaned up stories and story cards to accommodate your new cover art
• Also made view counts more visible there too
• Made user profile page look cool
• Links to some social media are on the browse page

April 8, 2023 - New Editor!

This is a big one. After careful consideration, we changed the rich text editor used throughout the site.

The new editor, TinyMCE, gives you way more style and formatting options than before, so it will be much easier to get your story to look the way you like. Also, copying and pasting content from other editors, like Microsoft Word or Google Docs, should be much more accurate.

This is a very big change across the site. The way rich text content is presented has been changed everywhere. Of course, we’ve taken great care to ensure that anything written with the old editor was not changed. If you run into any issues, please don’t hesitate to contact us. Community discussion, as always, will be on our Discord.

• Lots of quality-of-life changes for Search
  • Search text is now optional (* is no longer used)
  • You can now search for exact phrases
  • The results section now has a description of what was searched for
  • Search-dropdown sections (tags, stories, users, series) are bigger
• Added a simple, dedicated “recent chapters” page for stories. The link is in the recent chapters section when you look at a story’s introduction page
• Some CSS adjustments

• Searching for chapters limited to your follows now works as expected. (Unless you expected it to not work. Then it’s broken!)
  • Results will filtered to chapters either: written by authors you follow, or within stories you follow

• Added a “Recent” section on the browse page, to let you switch between new stories, chapters, and even polls

• Liking comments is fixed!
• The profile page button that lets you message that user is also fixed
• Author names on chapter choices no longer wrap strangely when they’re long

• The old What’s New page is now the Browse page, with lots of toplists and featured stories. Check it out!
  • The Dashboard page has also been redesigned to match the new Browse page
• Added a basic Tags page - you can sort through tags alphabetically, or by popularity
  • More to come on this page in the future!
• Tag limit is now 35, and stories’ short descriptions are now limited to 400 characters
